It was meant to BEE - true love story

A long time ago there was a bee in my house and I asked my son David to kill it. He said, Oh no mom! Bees are good …..I know how to pick it up without it stinging me.

Well, David died 11/11/04 and at his funeral, there were all these tiny little honey bees. I felt as if it was a sign from my son and it gave me much comfort. I have salt and pepper, cookie jars, pictures …..lots of honey bees memorabilia.

I was a widow and going to move to Houston, Texas where my children reside. I’ve lived in Arkansas 25 plus yrs but was lonely. I went on a date and laughed for three hours. He was real Country and I’m totally Yankee ( New Jersey).

After our date, he went out to his car and gave me a jar of honey saying, “ I have an unusual hobby, I’m a beekeeper! “ I was so surprised! We dated 15 months and have been married 7 1/2 yrs. it was just meant to BEE!

3 ways you can help rescue bees

Bees pollinate one-third of the food that we consume; without them, we would be extinct. You may contribute to the cause by taking these three simple actions.

1. Create a Bee Garden using plants that are beneficial to bees.

2. Fill a small dish halfway with clean water and set it aside as a Bee drinking bath. Make a swarming area with pebbles and stones for the bees to land on and drink from.

3. Provide a safe haven for natural bees such as bumblebees, who do not live in hives and are solitary creatures. Provide a bee hotel in a calm, undisturbed location for them to use as a hive for constructing a colony. You may purchase these online, or you can make your own!
